I have a brand new set of discs / pads and used calipers from a late model Puma. My car is a 99 early model Puma with the smaller Discs...
To swap over to the slightly larger late model brakes can i get away with just changing the calipers / carriers or am i going to need the hubs as well? To my eye the hubs look identical its just the calipers that are visually a bit bigger.
I also notice that the master cylinder on the later model is slightly different. Am i going to have issues with brake pressure if i dont also change the master cylinder?
It may seem strange to even bother but my brakes need total overhaul and i am getting all the stuff for free so just trying to decide if its worth the added bother.
I was also thinking that i might then have a bit too much forward bias and need to upgrade the rears to the larger drums but if i am going to do that i may as well do the full conversion to discs?
Has anyone tried this at all?
