Hi guys, i have a puma 1.4 99 and i was thinking to change my stock brake to the restyling version. I've already bought the 258mm front disk but i must change the support of the caliper also.

The disk non fit beacuse del diameter of the bracket is for the 240mm not for the 258mm
I've done this conversion myself on my millennium and documented it on my project thread. I used the original carrier when fitting the new bigger caliper, I still have them in the garage as I went onto fit the bigger st150 setup that does need a different carrier.

Have you changed only the caliper or the disk too ?

Going from 240mm to 258mm I changed the discs, pads and calipers. From 258mm to 278mm you need to change discs, pads, calipers and carriers.

The disk arrive on the limit of the bracket in the 240mm configuration.
The 258mm disk cannot be mounted with this bracket.
Is it clear now ?

Just to clarify, to be able to mount the 258 system of the restyling, the caliper holders and discs must be replaced, the calipers are identical. Whoever said you have to change the calipers doesn't know what he's saying, to be able to mount the discs you only need to change the caliper holders as they are wider to accommodate the larger disc.

Di seguito si può vedere il prima e il dopo.
