After 3 months of pondering what to get next, I've plumped for this:

If it ever stops raining I'll wash it and take some better pictures.

It's a 2005 M3 coupe with just under 51,000 miles. Lots of toys (not that I'm that bothered to be honest as went on condition and history) like sat nav / tv / bluetooth / electric memory seats etc etc.
More importantly for those that don't know, it's about 340bhp of 6 cylinder normally aspirated goodness.

I won't get let out of any side turning any more but it's a small price to pay for rather epic performance.

And I can confirm it has working indicators and will drive in lane 1 of the motorway!

Nice motor Dal
I was going to give you some stick with the usual BMW jokes but you got those bases covered
Barry

343 if the book is to be believed and none have escaped. Do the indicators work on yours? I've only had mine a month or so, so haven't had the need to try them out yet ;)

343PS or 338bhp if you want to get technical :p Had the Vanos / valves checked recently so it should be top notch.

I specifically didn't want the typical black / silver / grey ones that are everywhere. Only 521 red E46 coupe M3 done in Imola red if you believe the figures..

Ah ok yes 343 PS 338 BHP, more than the US spec which is 333 (guess that must be PS too?)

To be fair I see a lot of E46s around but not many M3s, only seen maybe 3 since I've had mine... guess if I was in London that'd be a different story!

My first (and only) BMW was an E21 320i. A silver 1981 2 door. I loved that car, so smooth and the build quality at the time was way above the cars I had previously owned.
But the camshaft changed into a a 3 piece one at 70mph on the M62. I got it repaired and was advised to get rid of it.

Glad to see the optional 'Indication Pack' has been selected ;)

Great choice mate -it seems to be the default recommendation on 'What Car' threads on Pistonheads!

nice choice i have always liked my bmw's iv'e had a e30 325i m tec sport in red and a e36 328i sport, also at work i use to drive a 540i,never had any engine trouble at all nice solid cars and the straight 6 engines sound sweet! i had a full system on my e30 and it was awesome

Nicceeee! :eek:k: Never seen a red one, over here.
Just the "popular" ones and a rather unusual yellowish/gold metalllic one.

Pheonix yellow. The proper yellow is Dakar yellow. I was looking at Z3 and Z4 for a while... But I'l stick with ST for the time being.

As promised some pictures now I've washed it - in no particular order:

(had to move the photos as I'd max'd out my photobucket account!)

Teeeny bit jealous! See quite a few of these as Munich Legends is next to work. Tend to walk very slowly past there at lunch times especially as they have both red and white M1's in at the moment... 8)
