In the last few months I've become really interested in Photography, but don't have a DSLR yet so am working with a basic digital camera.
Nevertheless, I have managed some decent shots, some I am really pleased with. I'll add to this thread as I take more.

Please comment and let me know what you think, baring in mind Im learning still! Thanks.

Hi
Your photographs are great and with a DSLR you will get some great images with more use of depth of field
How about setting up an account on Flickr?

I am in same sort of boat.... have been meaning to do more and get out there 'snapping'.

I do have the DSLR (yet to read the instruction book fully). and kodak quicky 'point & shoot' regular digital camera. Just rarely seem to follow through on ideas to do more photography...

Watch/check the various Photography magazines they often have some very good articles & PC CD's/DVDs of tutorials and software that can help... as well as the usual hints & tips.

Your photos are great, is it a hobby or job? What camera(s) do you use?

I have a canon. (die hard canon user for 20 years!)
I do it as a hobby but looking at teaching as I love it.
Wildlife my favourite and 99% of the time I shoot in aperture priority. If you are looking to learn about using the camera, have a look at http://www.goingdigital.co.uk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; or http://www.chrisweston.uk.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Both do great workshops and well worth the money! (especially if like me you hate reading the book!!!)

I'm thinking of a Nikon D60 for my first DSLR, seems to get great reviews and is aimed at first time buyers so is a bit easier to use than some others. Think I'll just wait until I get one then experiment with it, im sure I'll learn loads just from that!

Still using my 400d, bought a great lense for the wildlife and cant afford to upgrade now!!

Right, today I got my first DSLR-a Canon 450D, and so far I'm loving it!

First few pics....

Still getting to grips with it obviously but even straight forward pictures do look crisper than with my old point and shoot camera :)

Need to get to grips with the focus - does it have multi-point focus zones?

Loads of creatively possibilities!
