i have been leaking water for a while and was wondering where it was going and decided i would try and tackle it today only to find water seeping out of the side of my engine where the water pump is oh well at least i can get my cam belt and aux belt done at the same time!!!!

I think there is a gasket on the water pump (dont quote me) this could of failed

need to get the belt done anyway mate so its not a problem unless the problem is more than that!

Water pump is a biatch with cambelt on. £100 new from ford.

There is indeed, but it's only a paper / card thing. Best to coat both sides with HT sealant as this picture shows - in orange:

You can do it without taking the cambelt off, but it is a mare:
