You could be, you could have learned of it by mixing with low company in your rumspringa. Anyway, I'll leave you and Dal to get back to your reasonably priced car chat. :)

My little car makes me chuckle sometimes:

Great cars these had one for a couple of years until some boy racer hit me from behind at 45mph while I was at a zebra crossing hit me that hard I went over the crossing taking out some women's shopping trolley . I had to scrap it in the end it had a twisted chassis

Had little Akoya on track at Silverstone today!

Volkswagon Audi Group
Oddly enough, VAG actually stands for Volkswagen Aktiengesellschaft, the second word being the German rough equivalent of our 'Limited' (company). We use the abbreviation of Ltd and the Germans use AG.

Vaguely interesting info to know, but probably not a great icebreaker at parties. :)

In Germany, yes, but not in the UK.

In the UK, VAG did stand for Volkswagen Audi Group (UK) before going to just Volkswagen Group.

..VAG UK did stand for Volkswagen Audi Group.

How do I know, I worked for them for 10 years.

From 1980 to 1995 the UK arm was named 'VAG (UK) Ltd.'

Nowadays (since 1995) it's offically called 'Volkswagen Group UK Ltd'.

And the AG bit undoubtedly means Aktiengesellschaft in the German reading of 'Volkswagen AG'. Hence Siemens AG, Bayer AG, Allianz AG, and all manner of other German corporations.

MOT was almost a formality for the Tanklet yesterday.

Took it to A2 Cars in Milton Keynes for it's MOT and service who are regarded to know every in and out of these weird little cars as I wanted peace of mind that everything was as it should be. Never had such a pleasant garage experience. Polite, informative, honest and open in respect to everything they do. Good value too for a job well done.

Tanklet's done 89,000 miles now so according to Tony at A2 cars, "It's just about run-in now"

They are an all makes garage but tend to specialise in VAG, especially A2 and TT cars.

Fixed the picture links on the first page

Had a couple of Uniroyal Rainsport 3 tyres fitted on Saturday in readiness for the winter. £73 a corner fitted wasn't bad.

Nice little mini review of the tanklet:

Actually, if I understand your terminology right, GmbH would be Pty Ltd, I guess. GmbH is abbreviation for Gesellschaft mit begrenzte Haftung - company with limited responsibility.

AG - Aktiengesellschaft - is joint-stock company

Hadn't updated from a decent wash I gave it last summer :

Not been washed for ages so finally gave it some love and attention. Still racking up the mileage without issue - 500 mile tanks with ease.

A side effect of getting the plastic front wings squeeky clean and then polished, waxed and Zaino'd is that you can charge them up with static electricity somewhat and make your arm hairs stand on end!!

Did look nice and clean today - just waiting for my Gtechniq C4 to arrive to do the black plastics:

Zaino Z6 - awesome stuff!

Detoxed, 2BM wash, clay mitt, bit of Poorboys SSR1 via machine to spruce the shine up, AG HD wax then Zaino Z6 to zing it up. Slapped a bit of Rainx on the glass too as something to do whilst the wax cured..lol

Ended up doing the black plastics with >P.E.R.L.< and it seems to be holding up very well!

Little Akoya had a service at APS Brackley today - The O/H had her TT serviced there a few weeks back* and they went above and beyond on customer service so thought I'd give them a try.

11,000 miles since last service and MOT in October 2015

£80 later I had an oil and filter change, health check, ECU code read etc and they even fitted the new drivers side door strap that I had in the door pocket.

Can't recommend them enough. :D

*Her TT had developed a "clonk" at the back. Ed and the team had it out on numerous test drives and they reckoned it was the rear dampers. They were Bilstein B2 and only 14 months old (originally supplied and fitted by the TT shop in Bedford) - fitting a pair of standard ones the clonk disappeared. A quick call to Bilstein and they had a pair of B4 shocks there the next day (out of stock on the B2 so sent the better rated ones F.O.C.) Ed and the team fitted them and all was well. When we went to collect her TT, Ed refused to accept any payment for the work saying it was under the Bilstein warranty and Bilstein would give them a bit of a discount the next time they ordered something. Totally shocked that they didn't want even half an hours labour we were waved on our way. So today I went down with boxes of chocolates and haribo as a thank you which were demolished!

Back to APS today for some shiny new pads and discs (my back isn't cooperating enough for me to do them unfortunately) and a working temperature sensor switch. And flew through the MOT of course so currently got 13 months.

Talk about cheap motoring. It's my carbon offset to the Focus lol

Not recently - tends to be covered in mud most of the time from all the country lanes I travel and the tractors are out in force at the moment.

2 lugging trips for the tanklet this weekend.

1st was a trip to the wheel refurbishment place. A2 16" alloys with tyres on x4 + new winter 16" tyres x4 for them. TT 18" alloys with tyres on x4 all in the back.

Then yesterdays dump trip - 4 bookcases all flattened and a single wooden bed with mattress.

Will wait until it gets a bit colder before putting them on with the winter tyres.

Had Cherie's OEM TT done at the same time:
