Hi guys,

Just a quick one..

I have a 1.7 puma and the grip on the road has lessened other the past few weeks... corners that the car used to hug, is now sliding and slipping abit.

Could this be down to something simple like changing the front tyres?

The tread isnt as much as the back ones but they are no means badly low.

Any advise would be appreciated.

Icy roads still?

Could be all sorts of things, tyres, tyre pressures, suspension components wearing out. A low tread depth shouldn't make any difference as track tyres are near slick for more grip remember ;)

Here's Michelin's tyre pressure advice:

around xmas time my puma was slipping all the time at the front but tyre shops told me i had at laeast 2-3 mm left of tread but when the snow came couldnt take it no longer with no traction pulling off from stand still so replaced them with two new bridgestone costing £140 straight away i noticed the difference wishing i had done this sooner

although replacing the tyres i was still fussy so last week replaced the standard 15 inch with 17 inch and the grip is now perfect

highly recommended
