Just been on Ford Etis and couldn't fine my car using the registration number so I used the VIN

this is the registration details being shown, does anyone know what the DU-AW38 registration number is and what was the modification in 2012.
also on the V5 is states registered /used overseas.
have I purchased an import or a UK car that was sent overseas

No idea what that format is, it even suggests it was registered in GB with that plate..
 
Looks likely that it could have been registered to someone in the armed forces

Also years ago different letters referred to different areas of the country DU....Coventry and AW...Shrewsbury.

Not a lot clearer is it really :grin:
 
When I googled the reg it cam up with some armed forces links, just seems a little strange.
Might contact the DVLA to find its history or maybe the previous owner.
 
I could be wrong but I thought army reg numbers alternated the pairs of numbers and letters (AB 12 CD) or (12 AB 34) and not two sets of letters next each other?
 
That looks like a German number registered in Dusseldorf.

That's interesting because it's a 1999 car but registered in 2000, would you know where All Pumas built in Germany ? As it was built in Stuttgart according to ETIS.

Still waiting to see what the DVLA have on its history.
