Hi,
The above switch on my Puma needed replacing, I obtained a replacement from a Land Rover. These switches are virtually identical are more ready available and are cheaper on E Bay. Make sure if you get one it has the plug attached as the Puma Pulg will not fit. All that is needed is the existing wires to be connected and a small widening of the hole by about 1mm per side. It was a very simple job.

Can anyone give me the correct part number for a 1997 Puma bonnet alarm switch please? (one lady owner, genuine 38k miles only, Dealer serviced, great condition and soon new car and lack of parking space forces sale - colour 'Cuirasse')

I don't think it changed through the years. You'd be looking for 6983000 which also turns up under the main engineering part# 19L538.

Hope that helps.
