Replacing Steering Rack Gaiters

Hi there, yesterday I replaced the passenger side steering rack gaiter on my Puma. I noticed the driver's side is a lot more difficult to reach. Can I replace it in the same way as I did the right side without having to disassemble anything else then the wheel? I mean, with the gear box and subframe left it seems impossible to reach at first sight, especially for putting the back clamp + there is a hole in the gaiter which must be put on a tube mounted on the rack, I can't seem to be able to get there either. Anyone done this before? Thank you
