Rocker Cover Bolt Sizes

Hi, I have a all 4 of my rocker cover bolts stripped and threaded very badly.

The car is smoking whilst at traffic lights and I dont dare take it over 4000rpm.

As I bought the car in Albania, (and I am currently in Albania) finding parts is exceptionally difficult.

Would it be possible to replace the rocker cover bolts with 4 standard sized long-bolts?

and if so, does any one know the size of these bolts?

The DIY stores are good here (owing to ex-soviet influence) but buying geniune ford parts is impossible, (espcially in an small Albanian town / village).

I'm terrified of removing the bolts before I have replacments as I dont have a great deal of help or support here. (language barrier).
So I would rather know what size bolts to get before I tdo that job.

It's a simple issue, but I'm really stuck on my own.

The picture works fine, I'm not sure about the replacement for standard bolts though.

Stainless ones look fine if you don't want / need the chrome look.

The bolts are not the chrome bolts for the plastic cover. The bolts I need are longer (approximately 100mm going of the internet pictures) I cannot buy them from England because the postal service is more likley to burn down the local pub than actually deliver a parcel. As I mentioned, i'm in the back-end of Albania.

The chrome bolts fit into 6 holes on top of the rocker cover and hold the plastic cover to the rocker. The 4 bolts I need fit into the engine head and affix the rocker cover to the engine head.

The bolts you are talking about aren't bolts, they are nuts. Standard m6 nuts should fit no problem. Mine are replaced with standard m6 nuts too.

Thats great but every nut fits on to a bolt!!! its the bolt thats threaded, not the nut.

I can find them easily on ebay.co.uk But i simply cant get it posted to Albania.
