Rough rubbing noise?

Hi Guys,

Im getting a rough rubbing sound from my 1.7 Puma
It sounds like wheel bearings, but they are all ok?
Thought it was rubbing brakes but theyre ok too?
Its like a chuff chuff kinda noise if that
dosent sound stupid - was a lot louder this
morning . Not sure if its from front or back of car
is it likely to be gear box at all about to pack
in? Cars done 115k miles ? Any ideas appreciated

Sounds like you're on the right train of thought to me with regard brakes or bearings.

Thanks Red, the more i think about, i think
Its from the front - maybe Ive got a sticking calliper
on one of front disc,s? I changed one of e
Callipers last year for a reconditioned one as
as it was sticking? Im going to get wheels off
and have a look later today.

Didnt have much room to check calliper today
as i have to work on car at side of the road.
But after moving callipers/ pads a bit the noise
Is quieter - looks like I need to get another
reconditioned caliper.

If you've got a sticking caliper the disc will get really hot at that side in not much time so just drive it a bit and check the temp of each front disc.
