Last couple of days i've been thinking of selling the puma for a different car. Theres a really nice Sierra Cosworth Rep thats come up for sale and i want it! The only thing stopping me is ive poured so much money into this dam cat i cant justify selling it. I know i would love driving the sierra more, and i've never thought the puma was 'for me' since the day i handed over the money for it. Thats why i modified it, to make it a bit more personal to me, but sadly i feel im still yet to make a proper bond with the car.

So ditch the puma for a J reg sierra? Hmm. I know inside it would make me happy, but i hate thinking about all that money ive effectivly thrown away.

Personally I wouldnt not for a replica especially if the replica is purely cosmetic. but you only live once. Just be as sure as you wont regret you decision.

It is purely cosmetic, its basically a 1800cc Sierra LX but has the full cosworth bodykit/interior. Theres no way i could afford insurance on a real cosworth.

I'm very interested and i'm really up for the only living once thing.

If you have not bonded with the car why not change it. You only live once, make the most of it!!

I think your insurance will take a hit anyway just based on the looks, more theftable = higher premium (if you declare it that is).

I have to say that as soon as I saw the puma I knew it was for me, makes commuting enjoyable (except the bang when it hits a pothole).

I'm sure you'd have no problem recouping some on the cash on the mods you've bought for the Puma (coilovers & the milltek etc). :)

I'd say DONT DO IT!!! lol

But then i have an awesome 'bond' with my kat, a couple of times i've thought about selling and getting something different, especially since all my friends are into the Jap craze right now. But i couldn't imagine selling up. I came close once but couldn't do it. Hence why i've had her for the past 5 years. And i'm still not bored of her. I think the only way i could give up my kat is for her to be written off god forbid.

But if you dont have that with yours then maybe it is time for a change. As long as you stick with the Fords ;) lol

Have you driven a 1.8 Sierra? They are only around 90-105BHP, I am sure they are no more than 105, plus if you think you have rust issues with a Puma...

Im not fussed about power tbh, i only really cruise it anyway. Used to drive a mk2 XR2 which was the best car ive owned and loved it to pieces dispite all its problems, tho to be honest, ive had more (and much more expensive) problems with the puma. Very aware of the rust issues on an old ford thanks, but the older ones rust slower than the tin foil they make them out of now. Been assured its very solid and never been welded too.

Anyway, i cant do much about it this week as im on nights atm, neext week im going away, and then its the pumas MOT so the earliest i can view this car is on Saturday 10th of may. Its 160 miles away but ill make a day of it

I would if i still had the standard parts but as im lazy im just going to sell it like it is (if i choose to sell). I know i'll never see that money again but hey-ho.

Oh i will be!

Your puma looks like it has rust free arches, this alone must add alot for buyers in the know, you might not be too out of pocket.

That Kris-Coz's off fiord torque aint it?

If ya do think about it mate, why don't you off to sell your modded stuff in exchange + cas for standard stuff

e,g. Coilover for say £250+ your suspension?

I would but i got manifolds etc fitted at garages and that cost enough to remove it as you need to remove the driveshaft ect and tbh i cant be arsed.

Yea it is indeed his sierra. You know it then? I found it on xrtwo.com

Yeah- had a look myself- but i realy like my creature comforts that these modern (ish) cars give.

The only Old car if you can call it that, that has my name on it is a Ash Black Escort Cosworth Lux T25 Model

well said but you have to weigh the two up mate.

forget your mods because you can make the money up when selling them and dont forget the free mods your getting with his car.

get a quote and go for it i'd say.
