Hi, can someone guide me with preferably pics to remove the speedo connector on the gearbox of a 1998 r reg 1.7?
cheers

just pull off the plug, are you just wanting to remove the electric plug or the whole speedo worm gear?

to remove the worm gear you need to pull out a metal pin then withdraw it, be careful though as you dont want to drop it inside the box when you remove it.

there are pics in my lsd how to guide in my sig

Hi m8, I'm using your guide to remove the gearbox (it's great!) but it hasn't got a pic/info to remove the speedo sender but thanks for your reply I can carry on, cheers

Are you referring to the gearbox speed sensor?
If so, I removed one from my old fiesta, but I've never did one on a Puma.

The '98 model Pumas don't have a speedo 'sender' as such. The speedo is cable driven. The end of the cable just unscrews from the top of the gearbox speed sensor.

To remove the whole speed sensor itself, it rotates/unscrews from the gearbox. The worst part of doing that is getting something big enough on it to turn it, as the space around it was very tight.
Disconnect speedo cable and electrical plug first.
