Sticking clutch

Hi people my friend had just brought his first puma 1.7 today's he was at the lights when he pulls of the clutch works fine but has to pull it up thelast inch with his foot any help would really appreciated .

might be that the clutch slave sylinder is on it's last legs, or that the clutch pressur plate is going...

either way, the gearbox has to come out :/

I was a afraid of that he was gona try wd40 on the pedal and the cable near the gearbox .does it usually just fail completely do you know.thanks

The clutch system is hydraulic, it does not have a cable.
