Just bought Puma number 2 and quick drive around revealed a small issue with drivers side front suspension, on inspection it seems that it might not have been tightened properlly...maybe. Essentially the comparable difference between the two sides is that on the offside the bottom of the strut mounting is flush with the top of the wheel arch whereas on the drivers side it sits about an inch above it and seems to be loose leading me to beleive the noise was down to the fixing knocking into the underside of the bonnet but the noise was more of a crunching sound. Is this simply a case of taking the weight off that wheel and tightening it or could it be more serious? The shocks look new due to the lack of dirt on them and the wishbone on the right side looks to be new and the seller advised me that it had been changed recently confirming this.
