starting a project thread of what ive been been up in the past couple off weeks of ownership, ive given the cabby a full service, which looked like it needed, changed both front wishbones, even tho 1 had been changed for the mot in april this year, also managed to pick up a stainless steel cat back powerflow system for £80 at the weekend which has helped alot, the exhaust that was fitted wasnt a very good fit and banged alot even after tweaking it,i will update this as i go along, other mods to follow are rust spots, bumpers and 1 door moulding to be sorted out but that will be next year before i start showing her, also a 2.0 throttle body and modified air box,130bhp ecu upgrade will be done before end of the year.
will get some pics up later in the week.

finally got sometime to sort out pics so here we go

done a little bit of derusting today, black rubber strip along bottom rear of roof and boot area was removed and all rust cleaned and treated and primed so its got some protection till i get it in the body shop and looks so much better already by doing it.

did a coolant and thermostat change this afternoon, now have some heat in the cab :) took 5 mins to change compared to 3 hrs on the omega lol.

bit more of an update, been having problems with rough running on 1st start up,been like it since i brought it and the mpg wasnt as good as i expected,so i did some checking and found the lambda sensor connection wasnt plugged in properly, what a difference its made,i did a 234 mile trip and got 45mpg,now after the trip ive got a set off lowering springs and shocks to fit to drop it down 40mm so this should now sort out the suspension issues ive been having.will post pics when ive got them fitted.

changed shocks/springs today, took about an hour to do everything and heres some pics before and after :eek:k:

it was pretty straight forward, everything came undone ok,i used a breaker bar 1st on everything just incase lol, happy it now handles as it should tho, hated driving it they way it was and didnt feel to safe unless i was taking it very easy.

bit off another update, got digi dash to install,as ive been off work this week, ive installed a new electric aerial,to replace the old siezed up manual 1 that a previous owner had used to replace the original electric aerial, fitted led side lights, fixed front fog light switch and installed front footwell lights,so she is slowly getting to the way i want her to be,still got some rust spots to tidy up on the sills once better weather is here

well after visiting the parents last sunday, she had a fit and decided to dump coolant all over parents drive, got her home and is now stripped down awaiting for new cambelt kit, waterpump, aux belt, aux tensioner, cam cover gasket and cam locking kit, looks like im in for a dirty weekend :-D

cabby is now up and running, new cambelt kit,cam gasket, water pump fitted, and drives like new again :eek:k:
just needs a new clutch in the next few months, and mot next month :eek:k:

Not updated this in a while, had a new wishbone fitted 2 months ago,and tracking sorted out,at the end off november, she is going of the road, new front discs, pads, rear shoes and drums to be fitted, calipers and drums painted, not sure what colour yet, clutch is going to be replaced along with the cable,so ive got a few months to get this sorted.

I wouldn't paint the drums - every car I've ever seen with painted ones looks shite - plus it highlights the fact that there's drums on the rear!
