Thanks for all the replies everyone.
I knew the prices quoted where over the top (cheers for the breakdown Ian G too).
The EML is apparently down to the leak onto the spark plugs which is causing the light to come on - its flashing not on all the time but is still at present - although I've not driven the car for over a week.
MOT is not due to February so I have 2 - 3 weeks to try and sort out what I'm doing as it will fail on the majority of things listed.
Id be happy to shell out £200 ish for the parts and a similar amount for the labour too.
Im gonna try and get some local garages to quote for the work and take it from there - seems like there might be life in the car yet : )
