As long as it‘s a gearbox out of a Puma it fits no problem. The only thing you might need to swap over is your speedo sensor as this differs from analogue to digital dash cars (all 1.6 Pumas werde digital dash).
Quite some people here in Germany have swapped over 1.4/1.6 gearboxes into their 1.7 Pumas as both give you shorter gear 1-3 and a longer 5th for motorway (or in this case Autobahn) cruising
