My engine is still running rough, even after changing the leaking manifold gasket. Engine warning light is flashing. Stevie at Performance Puma has advised me to change the 'coil pack', and not to buy used. New Ford OE is too pricey for me: £78.20 for the coils pack or double that with leads/plugs.

So looking on eBay:

Unranded(?) Coils: £16 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FOR-FORD-PUMA-1-7-PETROL-1998-2003-12V-BLOCK-IGNITION-COIL-PACK-/151965895662?hash=item2361df8bee:g:tesAAOSwnLdWqjdq

NGK Coils £30 : http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/New-NGK-Ignition-Coil-For-FORD-Puma-1-7-1997-03-/381253617108?hash=item58c47c85d4:g:u2AAAOSwBahVTLbc

Bosch Coils £47.13 : http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BOSCH-IGNITION-COIL-PACK-FORD-Puma-1-7i-06-1997-05-1998-MHB-F000ZS0212-NEW-/152069568477?fits=Model%3APuma&hash=item23680d77dd:g:n~QAAOSw6kxXIEvY

Unranded(?) Coils/Leads/Plugs set £47 : http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ford-Fusion-Ka-Maverick-Mondeo-Puma-Ignition-spark-plugs-coil-pack-HT-leads-set-/261539132334?hash=item3ce4f273ae:g:T4oAAOSwI~VTzSH8

Any advice? I'm fancing the NGK coils, if just the coils don't fix it I'll then get leads and plugs.

That's not a bad price for a genuine Ford one.

Not a good price for my poverty wallet though :|

[post]352101[/post] Take a look at EuroCarParts.

They stock two.

Is HAAS the F1 people, otherwise never heard of them.

I have just bought one of these: http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/c/Ford_Puma_1.7_1999/p/car-parts/ignition/car-electrics-and-car-lighting/ignition-coils/?413590220&1&9acb9add21a2b4858afed67cc9eeea265027627d&000197

So that's a BERU and there's plenty of positive feedback when you search on their coil packs. When I put my reg number into ECP it only offered the 2 packs I listed, despite your BERU having the same replacement OEM part number as the first HAAS unit I linked to (and yes, it's the same HAAS as in F1)

My local ECP has this part number listed as a Borg, but I see they’re the same company.

Anyone know the difference between these two HAAS packs? The cheaper being nearly half the price of the Borg/Beru pack, suits my poverty pockets.
