Hi, I need to know the colour of the wire which operates the main beam headlamps. I have fitted some PIAA spotlamps on the Puma 1.7 and need to connect the feed to them off the main beam wire on the lighting stalk. The lamps have to extinguish when dip is selected.
Many thanks Paul haylock.

The main beam bulbs are HB3 the same as the dipped beam.

There are only 2 wires on each.. one will be the live.

Do you want to wire directly from the stalk or the main beam bulb/wiring?

It may work better if you use the live from one of the main beam bulbs to switch a relay, then wire the relay with it's own power source (and fuse) and connect the spot lamps to the relay...

Another thought is there are relays for the headlights in the fuse box under the bonnet.. could tap off a supply from those to run another relay for the spot lamps...
