Is the gasket for the Idle Control Valve on the 1.7 a rubber type or a paper type and can it be reused? If not what is the part number for a new one?
Reason i am asking is because my idle has gone rough so want to take the valve off to either clean or replace.
My mate has an escort rs turbo and it is running at 200 bhp. He changed the bottom end to a 2 litre zetec but i dont know what car it was from, uprated his injectors and had it remapped.
Just changed the Lambda sensor on the manifold due to poor fuel economy, hesitation and the occasional misfire.
Problem is though after i finished i disconnected the battery for half an hour to reset the ecu and then i went for a little drive to test it which went well until i got back and...
Just spoke to the company who i purchased the sensor from and they can't find a sensor with a round connector and that front and back should be the same which they are clearly not.
Does anyone know if the 1.6 has the round connector and if so is it the same as the 1.7 so then i could maybe try...
Are there different shape plug connectors for the front lambda sensor on the 1.7's as i have just bought a ntk and it has a black square connector but my car has a green round connector?
I am also going to give the icv a clean to see if the power picks back up a bit but have read about replacing the gasket. Does this need to be done and if so can someone tell me the part number for it? :-)
