I have recently done a 300mm conversion and fitted mondeo/cosworth alloys ET40 as they where cheap and they run ok on the road with spacers. I also want another set of wheels for running semi slicks on track days but what is the best size to get?
6.5x16 or 7x16 and 195/50 or 205/45 tyres and I am also guessing ET35 is advised

The right sice is 195 45 16. But you can go for 195 50 16 wich is slightly easyer to get hold of (atleas here:)) i would go for 7" wide rims thoug :)

I have 7.5 16 whit 195 50 16 on my winter wheels :) but I have frp arches, and wishbones thoug....

Information I found on the internet shows that for a 7" wide wheel, the minimum tyre width should be 205. I'm running 7" wide wheels fitted with 195 wide tyres (they were already on the wheels) which are slightly stretched.

Standard Puma wheel tyre size is 195/50/15. Again, information I found on the internet showns for a 16" wheel fitted with a 205 wide tyre should be 205/40/16. So the profile jumps down to 40 instead of to 45.

195/45's seem to be the norm but I can't seem to find any semi slicks that are that size, the R888's are 195/50 and 595RSR's are 205/45 :|
