Is it possible/ easy to upgrade a puma to get a cruise controll / audio on wheel switch.
have any one done this?

I ve seen alot of does universal swiches remote controll you can after mount on the steering wheel but

I am not sure thre is a remote resiver on the ford 6000w cdplayer.

there is a ford kit for the 6000/6006 with will give a steering wheel control of stereo. Its about £200.

I'm not aware of a cruise control option made by ford.

I'll put some pictures up of the audio control stalk kit later

you may be able find this from a scrap ford ghia somoething

The ford focus one in the link, i doubt is compatable.

the above kit, is the only one that is listed for a puma, somewhere there be a thread with the finis number on!

in april 2008

The complete kit is £197.45 inc vat, and include the items marked with a triangle. Also states that it fits the 5000 & 6000 units. should fit the 6006e!

Stalk - 1016383
Control box - 7272139
Lead - 1016384
Fixings pack - 1016382

COMPLETE KIT Finis number 1016379

The kit includes instructions for many models, and the control box is used them all.
All require spicing into the cars loom for power. I' heave the full fitting instructions here, I can post if need be.
Bear in mind these instuctions where printed a while ago, hence no end dates on the models.

PUMA 97.5>
Explorer
Mondeo 97>
Ka 97>
Fiesta 96>
Escort 96>
Mondeo 94-96
Probe 94> may have wrong loom, as 2 available

I would imagine cruise control would be impossible, it would work with the ECU and i dont think it could cope with it.

Audio controls should be easy, just get the remote and plugs from a Mk3 Mondeo (01-03) or a Mk1 Focus (98-01). Haven't done this yet myself, my current Kenwood only has provision for an IR remote, which I have fixed to the back of the wheel, but I am planning on swapping to an Alpine IDA-X305 or similar at some point, so will probably fit a Ford remote at that point and use an adaptor. Some peeps on zsoc have done this.

Cruise is also pretty easy, I have an Audiovox CCS100 bought from Amazon.com, cost about $90, but had it shipped to a US shipping address. Most wiring can be taken from the back of the cluster, except illumination and brake lights. I have used it for about 8-10,000 miles without a hitch.

Anything I can tell you, just ask.

No pics on my photobucket, will get some tomorrow.

Pretty easy to fit, only odd bit was needing to extend the wiring to reach a steering wheel on the right side of the car.

I ran the wiring into the cabin via the fusebox grommet.

Easy enough to mount the "puller" using a small bracket supplied in the kit, and bolted to the top edge of the TB, parallel to the throttle cable.

Controls are mounted on the side of the steering column; I believe there are RF kit available which could be mounted on the steering wheel, but that seemed more complicated than it needed to be.

This Cruise Control system by Audiovox is the more reliable and easier to install than the CCS100 and other vacuum operated units. It makes a great addition or replacement for an existing unit that has failed and will require a switch to control it. This kit has a few advantages over the vacuum driven CCS100:

Newer design able to read VSS pulses up to 38,600- the CCS100 only read up to 8000 and most newer cars have VSS pulses over 8000
Completely electronic servo requires no source of vacuum to operate
More reliable than vacuum unit- no vacuum diaphram to leak or fail
Consistent operation regardless of altitude or engine size
Easier to install since vacuum connection is not required.
Kit includes VSS/Wiring Info for vehicles from -1996-2008 (ccs100 only has info for 1985-1997)

so i probably go for the cheapest/ :)CCS100

Thanks alot for the pictures you added, looks great.

I deffently wanna get one :)
Probably need to send it trough my usa mailbox. :-( Takes a lot of time to get it but its worth it.
I probbably need to ask you some questions when I get it.
