Any thoughts or suggestions on this one?

My 1.7 Puma seems to have developed an irritating and potentially risky problem -

When I take my foot off the accelerator to coast up to traffic lights or whatever, the car sometimes seems to lurch forward (like I had prodded the accelerator) and I can feel the car being pulled along.

I suppose it could be a thousand different things but has anyone experienced this before?

I did check the switch under the clutch pedal as I had read that could cause problems but it is in place and secure.

There are a few things it could be as you say, but id check for idle control valve, throttle position sensor, and check for air leaks in the pipes coming from the inlet manifold. Just a few things that could cause those type of symptoms
