Central Locking?

Hi Guys

ive got the 2 button type key fob for my Puma 1997, and the cars central
locking only works, "locks and unlocks" when im close to the driver side door/window is this normal? why cant i use it a fair way from the car?

any ideas?

Battery isn't on its way out on the remote is it?

How many keys have you got mate?

That's due to the older ones having an Infra Red system rather than the newer Radio Frequency type. You also need to point the key to the interior light 'bulge' as that's what activates it.

If it's too close, maybe the batteries need changing in your remote?

hi Guys ive only the one key, and yes ive put a new set of batteries in from Ford! could be the infra red thingy!

never mind time for a new Alarm and central locking i think!
