Hi, i'm thinking about doing a bit of diy bodywork on my new 1.4 puma, the idea is to get another set of front wings (if anyone has an old set that have some damage on let me know) and cutting and fettling them to create wide wings in a similar style to the escort cosworth.
If I cannot get a spare set of wings then I will most likely start with the rear arches (got rust on one side already) and give it multiple coats of wax, followed by a coat of pva to allow release followed by 3 or 4 coats of coarse mat fiberglass, this will be left to cure then popped off (forming a negative of the wing)
the process is then reversed using the new hold to create two sets of the rear arches to work with, one to build off the other to use for parts. depending on how the build out process goes, I may need to use two part expanding foam, as this can be carved in to shape.

The other option that I am considering is to try and graft on newer style fiesta arches (splashed from a real car if possible.

lots of work but with some support and motivation it could be really nice.

thoughts and ideas?

regards shane

Sounds good...

You could speak to Ian G our resident parts guy. Several of us have got parts from him and certainly comes recommended from me.

Just ordered two replacement wings (and a few other goodies from a guy breaking a panther black on ebay) mine are rusted at the bottom, so once I get those and they are fitted I can start repairing the ones I take off, ready to make holds and panels to hack up and modify.
I will post pics as I go if anyone is interested? (and anyone can advise how to attach images to posts lol)

use photobucket and watch this video

I would like to see a mini cooper s bonnet scoop fitted into a Puma bonnet, Or a Puma bonnet with a modified version of one in it.

Open a free photobucket account, upload the pictures there, and then you mouse over the picture in photobucket and a drop down list opens up. You click on the bottom box, and it then says copied, then you paste it in your post
