Or will it go up because the car has been modified from the original specification?

You will need to ask an insurance company for the answer to this, nobody on a public forum will have the information to truthfully say if it would be cheaper or not.

If you ask one of the moderators nicely they might be nice enough to move this thread into the insurance section of the forum where a couple of insurance companies have representatives who look and post in that section.

Probably be better to fit a rear mounted 3.0 V6 behind the front seats but tell them you've only fitted a 1250cc! :p

Hi,
To be far on our schemes in most cases if you down sized on an engine the premium wouldn't normally reduce however each one of our quotes would be done on an individual basis so there would always be other factor to take into consideration too.
