Hi all,

Just wondering what the benefits are of an aftermarket and/or lightened flywheel? Is it mainly for torque response? Is it a worthwhile upgrade to do to a car as well as cams and ITBS?

Ed

faster revving in neutral. It will help somewhat but not a great deal on actual acceleration. It's not just the flywheel that the engine has to turn: wheels, discs, driveshafts.. better increase power or lighten the car. IMHO

It's a good mod for drifting. not much else...

Everybody I know who has had a lightened flywheel has loved it. Can cause issues of cutting out if your car doesn't idle too well, but if all is well, on an engine like the 1.7 on ITB's, you won't regret it.
