gearbox oil colour

Guys um a little puzzled...i know i need 75w90 oil but i understand it needs to be red...is that true? Does it matter the colour? Pls help...tnx

No, the only oil that is red that goes in your car is power steering oil, gearbox oil is gold in colour, same as engine oil but with a green tinge

What GT said, however iirc the castrol gearbox oil is a bit red

The oil i have now in the tranny its red...i have to ask steavie from london what oil did he put in...now i bought one that is like GT said...its ok to mix them? Same grade different colours? I found on amazon britoil that says its red...confusing

I bought mine from ford, but it wasn't red iirc
