Just a few pictures really, of my second favourite car :D

Despite the alloys (from a Yaris SR) and the lowered suspension, it still doesn't really handle properly - body roll is high, and the steering very vague, and the seats offering no support whatsoever, but still I enjoy driving it. Set your expectations nice and low, and it can be very entertaining. I'd actually come close to saying it's one of the best cars I've owned.

:D

I actually like the look of that Neil. Tidy and I'm guessing it costs bugger all to run.

Your right what you say about keeping expectations low. I've bought some right weird crap in my time and funnily enough seemed to have some really fun times in them.

Had an old escort van that was a complete dog but I fitted an XR2 engine to it and it became a friggin blast.
Had an old 1 litre Metro that cost me £50, also a dog that had been hand painted (not by me) and had a 1.3 MG engine fitted. It looked like a piece of sh#t but was quick and handled brilliantly.
Had a 1 litre Fiat Panda - don't ask me why I bought this...lol. But I've had some of the best fun in it of any car. Getting a car on 2 wheels round corners is an experience we should all try...lol

TBH, them 3 probably gave me more fun than the Charade GTti & Carlton GSi which cost WAYYYYYYY more but were in essence just straight liners - or broadsiders in the Carlton's case :eek:k:

Right, I think I've worked out the damage from the clout in a pothole a few weeks back. I'm pretty certain the left hand brake caliper is sticking on, mainly as there's a lot of resistance when driving along, and when lifting off, the car virtually grinds to a halt. It would also explain the stinking burning smell once I've pulled up too.

I wonder how much that'll cost to sort

Fingers crossed. Going to get it booked into the local garage this afternoon.

Yeah, the passenger side caliper is knackered and stuck on the disc, knackering that too. Quote from garage £330, as obviously both sides will need replacing :(

Poor thing hasn't moved in over two weeks, and hasn't been cleaned since February. I've never neglected a car that much :(

you can get turbo ones in these with the bonnet scoopes i think there 1.3 turbo plenty around birmingham

what happened to all those suzuki swift gti's my favourite

Neil you could surely buy a second hand set of callipers, a new set of discs and pads for at most £150 and then just get someonde you know to fit them?

Well, I'm getting it fixed and MOT'd on Thursday. I started her up for the first time in over a month, and the brakes were so welded on I thought I'd have to get it airlifted to the garage!

As it turns out, a lot of revving the nuts off it finally freed them. I can't wait to get it fixed, I'm missing driving my favourite little comedy car :D

This is good to hear Neil :)

'Tis a cracking little car :eek:k: I'll never forget the roadtrip we had up north and back in our little cars

Aye, was a good one!

She should come back clean as well - the garage always washes the cars they work on. A good thing too, as she hasn't been cleaned since about February, and is seriously disgusting.

Well, it's just me and the little Green Machine for the time being. I'll admit, I'm missing the grunt of the FRP aleady!
