Hi to all,

I'll post an ad in for sale shortly, but just wanted to introduce my car...which sadly in Jan failed the MOT and has been SORNLY looking at me since.

Intended to keep her for years, but have a young family and lack the time/skills to fix her, but cannot scrap this car as she will one day be special. Took me months to find in 2006 (as I only wanted a Curiass), ex-ford dealer Demo, so well spec'd, F1 wheels etc, then 1 private owner before me. I've cared for and run it as a second car for the last 7 years, the only thing non original is the radio, but I have the original with key code as part of sale.

We all know these will be collectors cars in 10 years, so I just cannot bear to sell the wheels and get scrap value, as this could become one the earliest/original Curiass's on the road in future, so looking for someone/a group to take her on with the time and inclination to fix her up.

93,217 miles, numerous reasons for MOT failure, but nothing really serious, just beyond me economically at the moment, worst of which is head gasket on way out/heater not working.

I'm sure there are many others out there, but I cant find another '97 curiass on the market, so am pretty sure at the current rate of Puma's getting scrapped this will become one of the earliest original curiass around, with c3,100 registered in '97 (howmanyleft) most of which were launch colour Meina (Geneva show 1997) and 'McQueen ad' silver, and the current rate of scrapping, there can't be that many '97 curiass's to start with, or left.

We all know that once these puma 'dark ages' of low values = scrapping of decent cars is over, the few examples left will get wider recognition as one of the best affordable drivers cars ever made...probably...but EVO aren't wrong. The main reason I champion early car's is that when the specialist press/media look back, they almost always most covert unmolested early examples of a collectors car.

So, any advice or takers welcome. Is £250 too much to ask? How many '97 Curiass's are out there? who knows. All i know is the petrol part of my brain cannot allow this car to be scrapped.

Thanks.

Hi,

Pics/Link to the gumtree ad:

http://www.gumtree.com/p/cars-vans-motorbikes/early-ford-puma-17-in-curiass-blue/1024620324#photo-content" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

It's on the option 'F1 style' 15 inch rims from new. ex-dealer car, so quite well spec'd.

thanks.

Hi,

My '97 1.7 Curiass MOT failure/currently SORN is for sale. Got a gumtree ad link with images/ description:

In a nutshell, thought about selling the wheels & scrapping her, but just can't. Took months to find a curiass this original/good in 2006, and she could become one of the earliest/most original 1.7 curiass's on the road one day if you're into projects.

Thought I'd have her forever, had started to day dream about where we might pass 100,000 together, but sadly it's not to be for me. Got a young family and no time. Looking for a good home.

Thanks.

You two are like magpies to anything vaguely Puma shaped :roll:
