I've got gsxr throttle bodies and new inlet manifold to feed these bad boys..ready and waiting! Just though a low pressure supercharger would be the icing on the cake! plus it would give it amazing acceleration! Its heavily modified already
CYLINDER HEADWORK which includes - PORTING & POLISHING
SPRINT CAMS
LARGER VALVES, NEW VALVE GUIDES & VALVE STEMS
FULL SET OF ALUMINIUM LIGHTWEIGHT PISTONS which have been pocketed to fit the larger valves
LIGHTENED & BALANCED CONRODS
LIGHTENED FLYWHEEL
COMPETITION HEAD GASKET SET AND HEAD BOLTS
COMPETITION BOTTOM END GASKET
PUMASPEED UPRATED CLUTCH
MILLTEK 4-2-1 MANIFOLD + SYSTEM - DECAT
PIPERCROSS INDUCTION SYSTEM
REMAPPED PCM
MINTEX EXTREME DISCS & PADS FITTED

im likeing the engine spec m8.
could you tell me,
where did you get these competition items from?
why did you choose the sprint cams?
where did you get the pistons from?
did you change the con rod big end bearings, if so where did you get them from?

also how much did you pay for the Scharger?

thanks kris

Thanks,
my engine builder got all the parts he did all the work on the s1600 puma engines and alot of ford motorsport engines. i will ask him next time i see him as several people have asked me about these parts, the cams are awesome and compliment the engine work, it revs like a motorbike engine now! I paid well over 2.3k OUCH!

The guys name was allan (aka The Professor), but he has gone back to working for ford motorsport, he told he has been working on the new focus RS! Which he said is a bit of animal by all accounts. As for the Puma he told me he used MSL gaskets, ive found the links to the company he got them from. As for the pistons they were 1.8 Zetec (80.6mm) lightweight forged pistons which he modified to fit the the puma block.

As for the supercharging project at present ive got a complete list of items i need, Im looking for more a stealth fitment. The supercharger will be fitted in place of the a/c compressor, under the inlet manifold so it will be tucked away. Im looking to get a small intercooler like the sierra cosworth front mounted ones, fit in behind the front top grille. I will use light weight aluminuim piping with samco hoses to fit the pipes but they will be wrapped with black exhaust wrap to control temperatures and add to the stealth sleeper look! If you have any ideas or tips, no matter how crazy just post them as im looking to make this car something a bit special!
I may look to get this car into fast ford magazine, TRY & SHOCK A FEW FEZ ZETEC & ESCORT READERS LOL

anodize the ali pipes black instead of exh wrapping them.....

exh wrap is a ^*()E$WRT()(*& to work with and live with. after a year it will need redoing & everytime you go near it u will be itching all night from the fibreglass.....

id go for performance ford mag tho.....or both!

Sounds good ive also seen a black crackle effect that a may go for as well!
The wrap was more to keep temps controlled..ive used it before on several of the rally cars ive worked on, and i agree it can be quite itchy!
Ive not heard of anyone supercharging a puma so i can't see why i couldn't get a small feature!

performance ford will love it!

could get it ceramic coated.....bit expensive i think tho

Good Stuff!
Ceramic coatings is maainly for exhausts & manifolds.
It wouldn't warrant the price it costs to get done.

I bought a sierra cosworth intercooler, which will now be fitted behind the bottom grille on the car. As this is a much shorter path for the intercooler pipes to run.

Im also looking to make a splitter for the front of the car, something like on this puma.

The story goes that the KA was designed to take a turbocharger, but that idea got dropped late into the development which is why they still have thus cutout under the bonnet.

KAturbo.jpg

The 4 development turbo'd cars just went missing one day at Cosworth.. supposedly broken up.

I bet they were fun.

Aww Dal why did you post a pic of an Endura Ka! Im getting all nostalgic for my old girl now.

Draduscontact you can buy that lamp pod from magnum motorsport for about £75 but that doesn't include the lamps.

mmmm ka..... im thinking (after the frp project is finished with the v6) i will have a spare complete frp engine, gearbox, ecu etc......could put it in in a sportka & use it as the daily drive????

I know, the pod isnt that dear. I just think it might like a bit over the top on a standard road car. Cool as though, its old school.

Perfectly feasible, except the FRP inlet manifold won't let you close the bonnet at all, so you'd need to cut a hole in the bonnet for it, or fit a regular 1.7 inlet. Costwise, I wouldn't butcher a Sportka, just do it to a cheap regular 1.3 then uprate the suspension etc for Sportka stuff... a lot cheaper overall.

Sorry for going OT.

So any news
And please tell me the brand or the model of the compresor
Looking to make some subaru like intercooler and mount it in the place of the steering pump and buy a focus electrical one
Any ideas?
Kind regards Radu

bummer to the frp inlet in a ka....oh well saves me another project, will just have to force dradus to buy the whole lot off me...!!!!

What fouls?? the bonnet inner support frame or is it too far proud for a bonnet skin to close?? Ive thought about a FRP'd car as a daily drive.

It would sit far too proud above the bonnet skin, I've looked at fitting a FRP inlet on mine and it wouldn't work without cutting a hole in the bonnet... then you'd have to build some sort of ugly "power bulge" to cover it, and that'd look gash.
