It says on the site they can be made road legal, which suggests they aren't as standard.

Any car can be made road legal, i read a story once about a Japanese businessman who bought an old Jordan F1 car, it needed 17 silencers fitted to the exhaust to get it through a Japanese equivelant of our MOT test.
