a freind of my familys garage is selling the above car, its R reg, has 24k on it full mot, its a 1.6 which is more than i wanted, but group 8 so not too bad. He sed i can have it for £800.

so what do you guys think of these cars? as ive never heard of them, lol

Is this aswell or in place of the puma?

It should be very reliable, pretty nippy but obviously won't be particularly exciting to drive. Very good mileage mind and good price. Can't go wrong if it's aswell as the puma.

Seen these?

Verdict

The estate is the best value, for a competent, cheap, reliable family load-lugger. The saloon and hatch take uninvolving driving to a new level - but make motoring a painless experience for those who don't enjoy it

Good: Undemanding, reliable and fairly well equipped. Owners rate them.
Bad: Characterless.

Not had any experience personally, but a neighbour had one that never seemed to miss a beat.

thanks guys. gonna buy it tomorrow then. :D

im just looking for a cheap, reliable run around to take care of daily comutes to work etc.

Il definately be keeping the frp, id be crazy to get rid of that, i love it :eek:k: :D

if all goes to plan that is, lol

With all this effort you make me feel as though I should get my dent repaired for the next one lol.

Don't forget to subject the Suzuki to all the usual checks that should be done to all used cars...complacency ends up being expensive sometimes

From HonestJohn.co.uk site:

Good: Undemanding, reliable and fairly well equipped. Owners rate them.
Bad: Characterless.

What's Good
Range of 3-door hatch, 4-door saloon, 5-door estate, all with same 1.6 litre engine. Power steering. Decent equipment levels. Owners like them. Got the 'ladies prize' at the 1996 Birmingham Motor Show. Suzuki generally 3rd lowest average warranty repair costs in 2003 Warranty Direct Reliability index (index 43.23 v/s lowest 31.93) Link:- http://www.reliabilityindex.co.uk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

What's Bad
Comparatively poor NCAP crash test results, but not tested with standard UK spec. Driver's airbag. Bland to drive with overlight steering. No image. Facelifted from August 1998.

What to Watch Out For
Not many of these cars about.
Sticking brake callipers cured by using CV grease on slider pins.
