cant find the old thread on this.....
removed the lump of pig iron above the top mount & weighed it; near as makes sod all difference 1kg!!!!!!!!!! BINNED!!!!!!
as far as i can see it does no 'real' job so its gone & my engine bay is now 2kg lighter, which bearing in mind the generic cost of replacing parts with ali or carbon fibre is about 50-100 quid per kilo lost im quite chuffed with that!
also tried the 'older' ford top mounts (as carbon fibre copies are available!!); its not a direct swap, bugger! a spacer could be made tho & itd work....or could get the company to do a 'newer' ford version but thatd be £100 for approx 300g saving! im not that desperate just yet.
