can anyone recommend a 3 day insurance company?

hey everyone just a quickie me & the missus are wanting to go to Ireland for a weekend but only want to take 1 car... her 1.2 2009 Ka as she hates the stiffer ride in the Puma, i currenly only have 3rd party insurance on mine due to cost i phoned my company up to ask for 3 days cover on another car but tol me the wouldnt do short term cover cos im only 23 not 25 tried a couple more same situation then 3rd one said no because i have 2 claims (from 3 years ago) anyone got any idea hwhere i could try next?

Would it not be cheaper hiring a car for the 3 days. £150 seems a lot for just insuring yours for such a short period.
