Continuing from last weekend.

Some new drop links, would have gone with genuine ford but I refuse to pay £40 each.

Thankfully everything came off and went back on easily and without compilation.

I'm going to give it a week to settle then drop the rear another 15-20mm to match the front, think the original rear springs may have been a bit tired and the 40mm drop I'd set it at has only dropped it about 15-20mm.

You can change the rears without stripping out, but as a fellow member on here did mine I can't go into details 🤣

I vaguely remember a swan neck ring spanner with an even bigger swan neck put into it - I think. No matter, you've done it & needed to get access for speakers anyway.👍

And finally, my fuel pump was fine with 50bhp jets for the nitrous - but nothing wrong with a new pump while you were in there 👍

Making the most of the nice weather this weekend I got on with fitting the new brakes.

Just as a comparison between the 258mm puma disc and the st150 278mm disc.

And the calipers. From left to right.
The original 238mm caliper, the later post 2000 258mm caliper and st150 278mm caliper.

Just need a way to secure the flexi hose, I've ordered a pair of billet p clamps so hopefully they'll be here soon.

Bedded them in yet?
Yeah, what a difference. I was genuinely surprised how good they are, I was expecting them to be better than the puma setup but not this much. I feel far more comfortable and confident pushing it on twisty roads now.

I have just upgraded the brakes / hoses on my car too, where did you get the billet p clamps from?

Cheers.

@caprixpack great write up on this one. I’m following suit and have some AP coils on order. How are you finding them after a bit of time having them on the car?
They're definitely an improvement over the standard stilts, the ride is firm but not hard or uncomfortable. Throwing it around twisty country roads is easier and I have far more confidence pushing it. Also the st150 front brakes helps.

Lots of really great info on this thread!
Mind if I ask, where did you get the fuel tank and perhaps more specifically, the sender unit from?
Thanks,
Dan

The fuel tank believe it or not came from euro car parts, my local branch even had it in stock. The fuel sender unit is an ERA 775148A
