If your car is a touch lethargic at low speeds, it could mean that your lambda is on the way out. If you get chance, get your codes read, it doesn't necessarily show up on the digi display.

Should you need one, the original part is made by NTK. I got an NTK from Andrew Page for about £60, compared to around £130 from Ford. Came with a plug on it that fits fine, though is not identical to the original part.

I have just had it on the diagnostic machine down at my local garage and except for lambda 1 reading "lean" everything was perfectly fine which is good news.

Still got a fuelling problem which might be the fuel pump now... not good.

New Bits to Go On:

Power Boost Valve
Drilled/Grooved Front Discs
Flowed MAF (Thanks to Jacko)

Maybes

Green Cotton Air Filter

My puma took a step backward this week :(

The power boost valve idea didnt work very well at all! it ruined my MAF sensor and now my fuel pump is whining all the time...

plan of action...

Replace fuel pump

and

Replace MAF Sensor

for as cheap as possible as I really am skint now.

Air Flow Sensor (1.7) AKA MAF / AFM - 6848047 - £87.44 + VAT.
(same as fitted to Escort 1.8i 16v, 1.8TDi from 1/95 on, Galaxy 2.0 and 2.3 (VW version, these two were the only Ford engines), Mondeo 1.8i 16v, 1.8TDi, 1993 – 1996, Scorpio 2.0 and 2.3 from 1994 on (bug eye Scorpio, not Granada), and Transit 2.0i approx 1994 – 2000)

Bought a new MAF and a used fuel pump. work will start when the weather brightens.

Also got hold of some more alloys that are offset 34 =]

Gonna refurb them then fit them.

dont do fuel related problems your self... me and my mate have fallen very ill and according to the doctors it was probs the fuel fumes that set it off... lovely.
