As above, anyone tried it? Any benefits seen?
What about the nicasil (spelling?) coating in the engine?

How much did you pay?

Unsure, however using even the basic Shell unleaded will within 100 miles improve the response of the engine and also mpg. They have a cleaning agent in the fuel that isn't present in the supermarket brands and there is a noticeable improvement to throttle response on the 1.7

I had it done to mine a couple of years ago. Felt marginally smoother but no other benefits felt! Had the head off a little while later and no damage or wear at all to the Nikasil

Total waste of money, don’t go anywhere near it! Instead spend your money on servicing with quality parts!!

Change oil frequent, and throw in some RedEx or similar petrol cleaner, along with a full tank of Shell high octane petrol about once a year or so. This'll keep your fuel system & engine relatively clean.
