Thats cool, it'll still out handle most stuff it comes up against anyway, those R888's are amazing, was just a thought to maximise the cars potential. At least now you can drive to the track, race, and drive home without having to mess around changine wheels, and worry about where to store your rd tyres!

tape ecu turned up

I have a little test for you steve, fit your TAPE ecu, and when its all running properly, swap it out for one of my FRP ecus and see if you can feel the difference.

Combe Update

Car handled splendidly, tyres made shit loads of difference, i thought the rear was going to be quite slidey but it wasnt, nice and stable.

Need more power though, I always say this every time i go out but i do, most stuff im doing in the corners they realise and pull over to let me past but i cant get passed on the straights, was having a crack against a 306 gti 6, and again was wanting to come past in the corners, and to be fair he realised and pulled over but we were always dead level on the straights oh well it will come soon, and the car is perfect now for more power.

Vids, didnt get any, I did try but my camera turned off halfway through and didnt save anything i was only left with my lap times on my phone, 1.22.89 was my best, no idea if thats shit, good or crap, probably crap.

Did get some pics though and i think there is more to come from dave, car seemed to get a lot of interest on the stand actually which i was quite surprised about, and oddly i think a lot of faster stuff was scared to overtake me up the straights as i think they thought it was faster than it was

Some pics

Hello mate

Car looks wicked & looks like you had a great time! I'm only about 20 minutes from Brands so maybe I'll see you there as I'm hoping to do some track days! Did a taster session a couple of weeks ago & now I'm hooked! I'm also booked on the club day in November!

No rest for the wicked bluds, as my new ecu negates the need for a post cat lambda, i removed and fitted a blank in its place

dont suppose if anyone knows if this is the same as the pre cat, with a view to keeping it spare incase the pre cat one goes?

yeh i know theres a pin i might need to swap... my piper system doesnt have the bung for the post cat lambda... its blanked off and cable tied down under the bonnet lol.

its the ecu from the analogue dial puma the tape is aint it? obviously its still gonna run the digi dash ok?

the bloke i got it off said he was running it on a digi dash fine, runs ok on my digi too, not sure there were any differences across the tape ecu range?

Just wondered Steve, did you do any calculations for that defusser? Looks good but I just wondered if it was causing more drag than it was before as the car doesnt have a flat floor would help cause this a bit. Also the hole around the exhaust would disturb the air flow.

Least I learnt something at uni......

No calcs just went off theory and best guesses, at worse its not going to make things worse should smooth the airflow under the rear bumper, il be trying to join it up with the splitter in time
