    Headlamp harness connector

One of my headlamp harness connectors seems to have melted whilst the car was at the painter having the headlamps replaced and polished. So now the headlamp does not work as the connector keeps detaching from the headlamp connection... - I've found a couple of mk4/5 fiestas for breaking - do...

    Jack mounting

I've been trying to put the jack in its original place but I think something is missing, unless I have the wrong jack (pic attached). I also have the plastic bit in between the jack and the towing eye which is broken...do you know if I can find this part on its own? Thanks

    Clunking noise on driver's side

So my puma had the following things replaced but I'm still hearing a loud clunk on the front driver's side when driving over potholes: - Front top mounts - Front shocks - Front stabiliser links - Front stabiliser bushes - Engine mounts - Lower gearbox mount My mechanic is saying it's because...

    Chrome/twill fabric

I need some chrome/twill fabric enough to re-cover the front door cards. Getting full door cards is also an option but probably not worth shipping to Malta due to size/weight... Thanks

    Interior colours

Hi I'm currently looking for some replacement front door cards for my puma but want to be sure the replacement will be the same. Mine is a 1999 "Series 2", I guess one of the first with twilight/chrome fabric. Are all the twilight/chrome fabric door cards the same or there are different ones...

Fitting 260mm discs on early puma

My discs are due for replacement and since it's a late 99 model, they're the smaller 240mm. My previous 1.7 was also an early model and braking never felt very reassuring given the power :-( I want to keep the 15 inch prop wheels so I'm thinking of going 260mm plus braided brake lines and EBC...

    Multiple AC issues (related?)

So the AC in my 2000 Puma works fine until I get stuck behind traffic or when I push it a bit to the limit  . In both these cases, it starts blowing up boiling hot air. When traffic clears etc., cold air returns slowly. Today I also noticed condensation/water dripping on the passenger...

    Airbag module error

So my airbag light stays on all the time. The electrician said it's giving out an error "airbag ecu disconnected" but when checking all the connections they seemed fine. I'm assuming the only way to go about it is to replace the airbag module which has to match my model (YOM 2000, dual airbags...

1.7 lower gearbox mount (dog bone)

Hi I'm trying to source the above for my Puma and it seems it's not a cheap common part. So I'm assuming it's different than the 1.4/1.6? I would also appreciate if you know where I can buy this online as I've been quoted around Eur 150 so far locally. Cheers

Headlamp and tailgate screen rubber seals

My rear tailgate window rubber seal has perished and cracked whereas both front headlamp seals have split halfway on the inner sides although rubber itself does not look too bad. Can these somehow be replaced individually and if so are they still available? Thanks

    Idle problem

I'm currently having an issue at idle, does it occasionally especially before the car warms up. When it does, it will usually stall several times until it warms up. I cleaned ICV and throttle body. Power steering wires and switch on top of clutch pedal seem fine. MAF was replaced with a new one...

Aircon not working (intermittently) - HCV??

Hi, just got my puma back on the road after 3 years in the lock-up. It's great to have her back but these couple of days I've experienced an intermmitent problem in the aircon. Most of the times, the aircon is working fine throwing ice cold air. However a couple of times, although I heard the...

    Puma put into storage

Sad times but finally convinced myself that it does not make sense to keep paying an annual road license of 530 euro (Maltese tax regime for cars registered/imported after 2009 based on emissions and age). At the same time, they are not worth much at the moment, so decided to return the plates...

    Puma from Malta

Hi, I'm new on here. I'm from Malta and I bought my '97 Puma 1.7 Lux as a UK import 2 and a half years ago. It looked fairly good with some bubbling on the rear arches but I knew that was a common problem on pumas. So after a few months driving her daily as she was, I decided to tackle the...
