Had the door cards off last week, replaced the front speakers... someone had fitted Sony XS 4" which were far too small for the space.
I've fitted some Fusion Mid-Range Reactor 5¼" They are actually part of a component set but i've not fitted the tweeters / cross overs and not sure that I will but that can be retro-fitted at any point. They fit much better, actually filling the speaker recess.
I re-attached the door cards properly and used some contact adhesive to bond the top rubber/plastic bit back to the door card as it was half way off and rattled a lot when closing / opening the doors!
I didn't fix the slow windows unfortunately :? I've a feeling it's to do with how the wiring has been split for the TOAD alarm system (which closes the windows automatically when locking the car). I may take it to an auto-electrician to have the alarm stripped out and re-fitted or replaced for something else. As whilst it works i've no proof it was fitted professionally and there are a few areas where its wiring couple be tidied up!
The passenger seat is currently out, I saw it fade into the distance on the rear bench of an Escort RS Cosworth  i'll look for the cause of the rattle when I get it back.
The battery is currently disconnected so I plan to clean up the ICV before reconnecting it!
