Getting >Hive< installed and then a week off work

I've got so many jobs to do about the house it's unreal - be good to get them all out of the way in one hit.

Got over 3000 photos to go through from out trip to the Nurburgring 24 hour race last week.
A couple of quick uploads:

Blagged our way onto the pit lane just before first qualifying:

The AMG GTs sounded amazing:
(The No4 car was the eventual winner - 5 seconds ahead of another AMG GT after 24 hours of racing)

An awesome 8 days away - definitely going back next year.

Didn't take the Focus as didn't know I'd have it when I booked the ferry. Took Cherie's TT and got a cheeky lap in on the Sunday before they closed the circuit to prepare for the racing:

I think i've finally decided on which bike to get when (if) I pass my full test; Suzuki Bandit 400. I know a few people with Bandits and they're a good all round bike, and a Suzuki so reliable and easy to work on. I've gone for a 400 as I think it's the perfect mix between power and affordability, as i'll be able to cruise on the motorway comfortably and keep up with bigger bikes but the tax, insurance and fuel costs won't be too high. Nor will it be too much of a step up from the lil' 125cc i'm on now so I won't go and kill myself immediately

Round the outside of the Karusel  You'll tell me you didn't do a 60cm pizza or mixed meat platter at Pinocchios next.

How to attack the Karusel, you need to see speed of the other cars to get a real idea of speed Tim is actually going.

I was there on the Sunday, we all came back on the Monday, was there at 7.30 waiting for it to open at 8.00 as its really quiet till about 10 ish, when it then spends the day full of yellow flags and closures.

The car was full with suitcases still as we hadn't checked into our appt and Cherie was worried it might scrape

Didn't do a 60cm pizza or Pinocchios but did do the fillet steak on a stone at >Pistenklause<

[ref]TGPlayer1[/ref], it sounds like you've carefully weighed up the options, as someone that was in this position having owned a CG 125 I was looking at a Suzuki GS500 as this is what I did my training and test on and I quite liked it. I ran it past my instructor and he recommended a 600 for all round usability.

I subsequently bought a Bandit 600 (1995 unfaired model, not the 650) and I was glad I did. It was amazing for it's forgivingness, comfort and engine. The only reason I sold it was because I'd always craved a more sporty looking bike and with a 80 mile a day round trip for work a screen was welcome also.

So my final thought is that you should consider if not already the GS500 since I understand it's more modern and parts are probably still more readily available?

I do personally think the Bandits look better though.

.. ramble over :D

As it happens i've been looking at GS500s today, but they just dont excite me. I know 600 is proabbly the most common size for the style, but a 400 will be cheaper on insurance and fuel. If it's a negligible difference then i'll plump for a 600, seeing as there's so many more available.

There's just something about the Bandit that I like, you know when you get that gut feeling you can't explain. I also really like the Yamaha SRX400, but they are even rarer!

My cousin has had the VFR400 for a long time now and she loves it, so I suppose the smaller engine boredom theory doesn't always apply.
