Very fast progress! I think you only started taking the dash out on thur I think, and now you've stripped a ton more stuff out, and put (a limited amount lol) back together

Looking really good, but oooooohhhh no heater!!! (or no blower in the summer). I suppose in the summer you'll just have to open your window hatches and drive faster! ...... but a cold car. Unless you're not planning on using the car in the winter.

Either way, good, brave, work!

im going to be getting a roof vent i think

today was going in a tidying up direction, started off by removing the loose sound deadning that was trapped behind the ecu bracket

drilled out the rivets on the housing

P1070532.JPG

slid off brakcet to reveal (dive) ecu

P1070533.JPG

ecu removed

P1070534.JPG

bracket removed, along with sound deadning behind it

P1070535.JPG

P1070536.JPG

ecu all back together

P1070537.JPG

next back to this fun job of removing stuck on sound deadning, think this is the last bit on the car, and proved to be the shittest to remove

P1070538.JPG

halfway into it, this stuff was double layered

P1070539.JPG

all off and car a mess again lol

P1070540.JPG

tidied up the large bits and white spirit to remove the glue

P1070542.JPG

wiped down and cleaned up

P1070543.JPG

mounted my diag port here

P1070541.JPG

tested and works ok with my blue tooth dongle, can still communicate with ecu fine

so thats really where i had to leave it, cant hoover up because of all the snow on the ground, and cant route the wrapped loom because i have to wait for my large p clips to arrive, not sure where to put the isolater switch atm, might have to make a panel for it from plastic of something, bright ideas on a postcard.

P1070546.JPG

weighed some stuff

bag of removed sound deadning

P1070548.JPG

heater matrix housing

P1070549.JPG

dash

P1070550.JPG

plus im going to estimate about 5kgs in various other bits of plastic, loom, and the heater matrix itself, gives around 27kgs as a rough guideline

starting to come together now, my p clips arrived which meant i could start mounting this loom out of sight, still some wires that need tidying but they are for switches that i cant yet mount and my oil pressure guage. Im waiting for a piece of aluminium to arrive so i can make a switch panel, which will also mount my isolator switch in

P1070560.JPG

stalks back on, steering column reconnected etc

steering wheel back on

P1070556.JPG

P1070557.JPG

then had a tidy up and hoover, and how it all looks now, most of it done (the isolator switch isnt staying there)

so we have gone from this

430399_10150646989270730_556280729_11571833_359918229_n.jpg

to this

all the sound deadning patches etc will be sprayed up when the cage has been fitted

Looking epic, Mr. Williams. Your thread makes me happy every time I look at it.

Not in the way you're thinking, though. OK, it is.

Aye, certainly looking like a machine now  Might need to keep that white heater in there though eh, it's supposed to be -15 in parts of the country tonight. :!:

Wow Steve! Your car has really started to become a lot more focused since you've got a different car for the road. It's brilliant!

Seeing you conquer the wiring loom so quickly was enough to force me to make a start on mine. I've been avoiding it for weeks and weeks.

Could you have a look at my thread to see if you could tell me what a couple of things are? I labelled up most of it easy enough. Removing the original tape was not very nice though - my hands have never been so sticky!

Oh yeah. It's here: http://www.projectpuma.com/viewtopic.php?f=64&t=14404&start=50

few more jobs done

first up join these pipes together, need to mount this properly somewhere

P1070579.JPG

then cut a square piece of plastic out

P1070577.JPG

sikkaflex around the edge of the hole

P1070578.JPG

stuck down, airtight seal

P1070580.JPG

then drilled a 28mm hole in my sheet of alu i bought

and attached in the car this will be the housing for the isolator, and some switches and maybe a small volt dial, will look less random when labelled up etc

Right, I've cleared out all of the juvenile comments. Further irrelevent comments, digs, jibes and sarcastic replies will also be deleted.

Please keep things civil.
