First of all, I'd like to say thank-you to everyone who came. FITP can be a bit more of a chav-fest than other shows, but I hope there was enough there to make it worth it for everyone. :eek:k:

The weather held out for us this year, and in spite of a dreary looking start, and some chilly winds, there were a few of us that ended the day with more than a little bit of sunburn. :pinkeye:

Inevitably, the day was a little overshadowed by the anniversary of Colin's passing, but I hope we did him proud.

We wanted to find a way to commemorate Colin, and in the end we decided that we would award a memorial trophy. The trophy was made by Jacko, out of parts from an old gearbox, and had to feature something yellow, and something carbon fibre. Everyone on the stand got to vote in a number of categories, the results of which are as follows (the number in brackets is the total of points awarded):

1. General Paint Quality
1st: AndyW (125)
2nd: Cherie (44)
3rd: Neil (26)
Fail: Mort666 (-55)

2. General Interior quality
1st: Cherie (88)
2nd: AndyW (76)
3rd: Red (28)
Fail: Mort666 (-45)

3. General Cleanliness
1st: AndyW (122)
2nd: Cherie (32)
3rd: Zara (27)
Fail: Mort666 (-30)

4. General Mechanical Quality
1st: AndyW & Dal (41)
2nd: Cherie (34)
3rd: Martinthrapston (26)
Fail: Scotty1.7 (-19)

5. No Expense Spared (Most money spend on mods and/or maintenance)
1st: Jacko (76)
2nd: Andy (65)
3rd: Neil (41)

6. Overall package (which would you swap yours for?)
1st: Cherie (57)
2nd: Red (46)
3rd: Andy (37)

7. Most Original/Standard
1st: Cherie (76)
2nd: Adrianj (50)
3rd: Red (35)

8. The Spirit of Bok (Best mods / unique mods)
1st: Jacko (107)
2nd: Zarablackcoupe (67)
3rd: Steavie (13)

9. Rusty Old Banger!
1st: Mort666 (-140)
2nd: Zarablackcoupe (-52)
3rd: Dal (-14)

The total number of points awarded decided who took the trophy home:

1st: Andy (473)
2nd: Cherie (337)
3rd: Jacko (263)

Congratulations Andy!

The epic fail award of a wooden spoon went to Mort666 with a score of -260! Mainly due to the rust!

So another thank-you to everyone who took the time to fill out the voting forms. It wasn't an easy task; where some categories had an obvious winner (or loser ;)), others, and the 2nd and third places proved to be tougher to decide on.

We will do the same every year that we are at FITP. :OK:

Love the trophy idea, funny seeing Paul with the most losses...lol.

Glad in a way that I couldn't make it as I may have given him a little competition just for the general lack of care given to mine....lol

Glad you all had a great day :eek:k:

Awesome day- Cheers to Cherie, Dal and the rest for that.

I did get home- with no black smok or mishaps- save the national express coach on the m1

Thanks to Dal and Cherie for putting everything together for this :eek:k: was a good day (on the whole).

And thanks to everyone who voted for my car - makes all the hard work and long hours worthwhile :)

I did feel like a bit of a prat when you took pictures of me with the trophy  but proud at the same time :)

All things going to plan I might just, might make it to Ford Fair. Pips wont have wheel arches done but should be in good working order (fingers crossed). However he will be clean and shiny one hopes.

Why be shy Andy? Id be pleased as punch, as you say all the hard work paid off! You car looks great and if id been there id have voted too - all the cars looked good. Credit to you all! Hope you outshined the chav's loads!

Andy you looked as pleased as punch- your teeth were almsot as shiney as yopur car with your grin lol

Totally deserved it matey, car looked like you drove it down with celeophane wrapping it from the factory.

Tina- Im going down the night before for Ford Fair- Booked intop the Best wester Bucks hotel, but its now full for that date.

Thanks Cherie for organising this and apologies I disappeared early I just wans't enjoying the day as much as I had liked to...

Tina, Zara is selling her ticket and stand pass if you want to come on the stand with us.

I had a really good first show, thanks everyone!..

Although I don't think I've ever been called a chav more in one day, than at the show. (Thanks Zara) :p..

Hopefully mine will be in presentable condition to come next year :).. And i'm hoping to make it to ford fair :)

That sounds like a challenge to me mate.

The only way I could have spent less time preparing the car was not to have it washed at all. As it was, I spent a good 4 months of complete neglect on it and finished it off with a trip to the local hand car wash and spent a fiver to get it show prepped

I've left the spoon in my glove box so that whenever I get a new CD out I can be reminded of my dedication and hard work :funny: Hoping to build up a collection of 'trophies' as the shows come and go (shame I wont be at ford fair now ) It just goes to show that if you stick in and stay the course, you too can be a winner loser too :D

I'm hoping to hold my title for along time, although I would point out that any future challengers to my crown have to take into account the number of people voting. I reckon -260 is pretty good, but if double the number of people are voting then it's not a fair comparison ;)

True but Paul you'll never take the (un)reliabilty award away from me.

I can't wait for Ford Fair now- Great show, great company and a cracking day.

Even with Jacko discussing small shiney things to to be shoved in the back end of Neil and Matt

Ys it raised few eye brows and brought tears to peoples eyes as well

Oh off topic- Neil- did ya get my e-mail re ford fair sheet? Is it ok?

I'm at work mate so can't access my ProjP email. I'll get back to you tonight.

Cherie, well done for winning the interior prize! Tis something I know nothing about hence the most impressive to me!!
